Shielding moves ZEC from a transparent address into a shielded pool (t → z); deshielding moves it back out (z → t). Both cross a public pool boundary, so their amounts are visible — they are the main observable signal of privacy adoption. Over the last 24h: 33,005 ZEC shielded, 9,070 ZEC deshielded (net +23,935 ZEC).
